Injuring this character: Go ahead! But he heals faster than a normal human. His movie level healing is drastically cut but, he will still heal quickly so have fun with it!
Killing this character: Lol oh please do, he'll be back in time. He used to use killing himself as a scare tactic on baddies in the novel based on the script since he always sat back up.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Sure! But it's gonna be sad in there.

Warnings: The Crow City of Angels is full of drug use, misery, gratuitous violence and murder, more so the murder of Ashe's child is a big one to him, and something he mentions, it is how he ended up cursed after all.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: kind of! he was severely emotionally neglected as a child, leading to an unhealthy bond with his twin sister and extremely little socialization with anyone else that's kind of made him a sociopath. the two of them entered...like, essentially the hunger games but a sci-fi setting and it's more like reality tv and it's actually a treasure hunt, and died. he doesn't remember his death, but he's seen video of it and read a lot of news about it, because brain scans of them became AIs, which is how he's existed for two years before his arrival.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: yep. he was taken from his human mother at the age of ten and raised by his elf father, where he and his twin sister (i don't have a type shut up) proceeded to be kicked around by elven society for being half-breed. they left their father's house at sixteen and proceeded to essentially live as vagabonds for several years, which included a) joining a gang under duress b) nearly losing his sister a couple of times and c) having a lot of rough, dubiously consensual sex. he also learned his mother had been killed by a dragon in that time. his sister did eventually die and he traded his life in service for hers, becoming the champion of a goddess of death, which eventually caused his own death. in general in the present he has a lot of self-esteem issues and he's definitely got a past with severe depression.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: she's been strongly mistreated her whole life for being green, then spent a few years as a fugitive for trying to stand up to injustice.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: some, but probably less than most. she doesn't remember the accident where she lost her vision and most of the rest of her problems are frankly self-inflicted. the biggest thing is spending a year and a half here without her wife or her crew or her infant son, which has been kind of traumatizing for someone whose main strength is in picking people to protect her.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: her life up until 14 was mostly fine, she was the child of qunari mercenaries being raised by a pair of human farmers, who were frankly much better parents than the real ones would have been. when she was 14, a wave of monsters (the blight, if you know dragon age) came through, killing her parents and burning the farm, and she narrowly escaped thanks to a passing adventurer called Striker. that's honestly probably the biggest thing, the mercenary company striker brought her into shelters her pretty well.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: Her childhood was mostly fine, she did lose her mother but she was VERY young, so that was really more her father's tragedy than hers. But she went from a sheltered upbringing, and being full of optimism, to discovering over a few years that the world is very mean and very cruel and very unfair, and it took a lot of the shine off of her. She also lost the love of her life. She's currently, um, pretty riddle with depression? Like, she's going to live a very long time because Druids Are Ridiculous, and she's staring out at a 1500 year long path and thinking, is there a point to even trying to make connections if you're fated to always lose them?

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: TBH not really? He's an android so he's not technically very old. His only painful memories would revolve around the deviant androids that have died in the process of his work, and that's very...conflicted emotions, more than outright pain.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: Not really a bad life, but Daddy Issues Abound. The He left us and started over and I kind of stopped existing to him and I'm about it flavor.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: Ahahahaha God how long do you have? So he grew up during the Depression in the Dust Bowl, lost his little brother to a fully treatable illness because they couldn't afford the medicine, had to watch his mother resort to prostitution just to feed them all, then got turned and promptly abandoned by his sire. It's been a hard road, man.

Have they had a bad life, or painful memories?: This is another How Long Do You Have circumstance. So Daisy grew up an orphan, got kicked around from foster home to foster home, ran away at 16, drank a lot, did a lot of drugs and had a lot of risky sex, finally got her shit together, found a home only to lose it, had a guy she liked turn out to be an actual gross Nazi, found her parents only to lose them (and almost get killed by one of them!), fell in love and oh yep lost him too. Oh we forgot to mention the evil alien deity that highjacked her brain and made her betray and almost kill the people she loved! But she's fine. (She is not fine she lowkey hates herself)
